Scoring Zone's Take

Xavier Worthy left Chiefs practice with a shoulder injury, and while early word is that he's believed to be okay, the fact he was carted off — combined with a prior shoulder history — keeps this on your radar rather than off it. Confidence in the reporting is moderate (75-80%), and the language is notably hedged: "believed to be okay" is not a clean bill of health, and "status remains uncertain" tells you Kansas City hasn't closed the book on this.

For draft prep, don't panic-drop Worthy, but adjust his risk profile. He entered the summer as a breakout ascending option in Kansas City's passing game, and that ceiling hasn't disappeared. However, recurring shoulder issues are a real red flag for a receiver whose game leans on speed and contested/high-leverage plays — re-injury risk should nudge his average draft cost down slightly, and it argues for building in insurance at the wide receiver position rather than reaching for him early assuming a clean summer. Track practice reports over the next week or two; if he returns to full workload without setback, treat this as a non-issue and draft him at his normal value. If there's any recurrence or he's held out of joint practices/preseason reps, that's the signal to actively downgrade him and prioritize a similar-ceiling WR as a hedge.

Bottom line: hold Worthy on your board, don't force a redraft-value change yet, but flag him as a name to monitor closely before finalizing rankings — this is a wait-and-see situation, not a sell-now situation.

Fantasy Impact:

While details are sparse for the moment, it’s still good news for the Chiefs and their fans alike, who saw both Worthy and Cyrus Allen both exit practice, but both seem to be ok. This could still impact Worthy’s fantasy performance, however, as he dealt with shoulder injuries all of last season, so fantasy managers will need to monitor this situation as updates emerge.
