Scoring Zone's Take

Breece Hall's groin strain is worth monitoring closely as you finalize draft boards this August. The FantasyPros report pegs him missing at least 2-3 weeks of practice, which is a real chunk of camp and preseason reps he'll lose right as the Jets are trying to establish their offensive identity under a new-look coaching staff. That's not a season-altering injury on its face, but missed practice time in August often means missed conditioning, timing work with the offensive line, and reduced preseason snaps — all of which can matter for a back who relies on explosiveness and pass-catching chemistry.

The Yahoo Sports angle, however, is worth flagging as the softer, more speculative read here — the Jets are reportedly downplaying the severity and framing it as an opportunity to test their running back depth. That's team-speak that could mean this is genuinely minor, or it could be standard practice-injury spin. Given the lower confidence on that source, don't let it fully offset the more concrete 2-3 week timeline from the higher-confidence report.

For draft prep purposes, treat Hall as a talented but slightly riskier RB1/2 target rather than a locked-in early-round safe pick. His talent profile still supports a strong draft slot, but shade him down modestly given the injury cloud and keep an eye on Jets beat reporting through the rest of camp for practice-return updates before you lock your rankings. Confidence in this take is moderate — the injury is real, but severity and long-term fantasy impact remain unclear.

Fantasy Impact:

Hall injured his groin during Monday's practice session, after which head coach Aaron Glenn expressed that the issue was not considered serious. It was announced Tuesday morning, however, that the Jets' workhorse back will miss at least the next couple of weeks. Glenn also reiterated that he expects Hall to be ready for Week 1.
