• HC Kevin Stefanski said that starters would play in the team's final preseason game on Friday against the Dolphins. Stefanski said that he was not sure if Michael Penix Jr. would play, but the third-year quarterback will split first-team reps with Tua Tagovailoa during Monday's practice.

RETIREMENTS

• Veteran TE C.J. Uzomah is retiring after 10 seasons in the NFL, seven with the Bengals. Uzomah ends his career with 192 catches for 1,881 yards and 16 touchdowns.

• QB Deshaun Watson is being named the Week 1 starter over Shedeur Sanders, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported, per sources.

• K Daniel Carlson is signing with New Orleans, NFL Network Insiders Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport reported Monday. Carlson, 31, has spent the bulk of his nine-year career with the Raiders, earning a first-team All-Pro bid in 2022. Last season, he connected on 22 of 27 field-goal attempts.
